We head to the west end of the lake to fish the first leg of the lake Ontario Pro-Am circuit. We had Great fishing over the two weeks we were there. Lots of Kings, Steelhead and Cohos. Anyone interested in fishing on the west end let me know and we can set something up for next year. Well we finished 3rd in Orleans and a 6th place in Niagara after a horrible day one we had the biggest catch and come back on day two!

April 27, 2007

Chuck and Carl were the latest members of the bloodbath club! They were both way into double digits today. The day started off steady but after a short down pour the creeks put out a lot of color and it was steady doubles and triples!

April 26, 2007

Antone who has frequented Fat Nancy's probably recognize these characters, "King Davey" and the shop owner Rob. On an abbreviated trip we were way into double digits! We even got to try two new spoons we created for michigan Stinger. The FN Gator and the FN Wiggler.

April 23 & 24, 2007

Jason, Jason and Greg were up for two days of unbelievable catching, that's right catching not fishing! The hooked over 100 brown trout in their two days of catching. Its been some of the easiest fishing we've ever seen so get up here NOW!

April 22, 2007

Took Sweetpea and Ricky out for some of this beautiful weather. The fishing was tough but we had a great day!

April 21, 2007

Larry and Pat wanted to fish the Salmon today and with the drop in the water flow we thought it was going to be a slammer. Unfortunately it was a tough bite for everyone I talked to. We had a great day landing a few and missing as many more.

April 20, 2007

Jack was back from Florida to experience some Salmon R. steelhead and wasn't disappointed. We caught fish on eggs under the float and Ray even got two casting his west coast spinners. It was a great day on the river.

April 14, 2007

With one of the busiest days on the river and great brown fishing to be had Doug, Bill, George, and I decided to head out for some browns. It was a little rough to start but it calmed down nicely and the fish started to very aggressive. plus check out the 10 1/2 lbs Walleye!

April 11, 2007

Bill and George joined me today for some of the best Brown trout and Coho fishing I have ever witnessed! 45+ bites in all! It was so good we decided to try casting and had 15+ hookups and at least 10 follows. What a sight seeing browns and cohos hit right at the boat or just turn away at the last minute. Sorry for the lack of pics we just didn't have time.

March 2007

After all of the Snow we had this winter, along with my camera going for a swim I didn't have many pics to share. I've been out Panfishing on the Ice quite a bit this winter. But we're back to trout fishing!

December 2006

Here are some more pics from December.

December 2 & 3, 2006

With all of the nice weather we were having I had my Father and Brother come up to go fishing. Sat. was nightmare winds blowing up to 45mph and a rain, sleet and snow mix. Since we were going out for "FUN" we decided to wait out the front, it never subsided so we only wound up fish for 2 hours Sat. Sun was a totally different day, clear skies and cold. A little to cold as the fish were a bit sluggish to start the day. All in all we had a lot of fun.

November 29, 2006

Wayne is back! He wanted to try fishing the Oswego R. from the boat as he was having very little luck from the shore. We were able to capture fish both casting and backtrolling plugs on another short trip.

November 28, 2006

Rhett and is brother Matt joined me today for their first ever Steelhead trip and we wound up catching a Walleye! Plus a few Chromers and few few missed opportunities:(

November 26, 2006

After seeing us on the ramp Wed. Wayne wanted to try his hand at catching steelhead. He wanted to go on turkey day but I said NO! So, we went on Sun. What crowds! It was like fishing during salmon season. We only fished half a day and we caught some nice steel.

November 24, 2006

Frank and John for there annual day after Thanksgiving float trip. After not seeing another soul last year it was a crowded day on the Salmon R. We did manage to get some water to ourselves and but away a few Beauties.

November 22, 2006

Matt and his father Allen are back for a steelhead trip and they weren't disappointed. Dad let Matt reel them all in and a fine job he did. it didn't hurt that almost all of the bites were on his side. For 11 years old Matt has become a Professional!

November 15 & 16, 2006

Joe is back and this time he brought buck along for the ride and I mean that literally. The first day we made the long trek out to 18 mile after hearing some promising leads and after last years 40-60 fish days on their trip we figured we had to take the chance. It wasn't what we expected but we did find some nice fish.

November 14, 2006

After a day of fishing with my Lake partner Tom on the Salmon R., Greg and Joe wanted to try out the their fly rods on some for the smaller creeks to the west. We didn't murder them today but we had a great day none the less. They each managed to pull some nice Browns and rainbows. Of course I had to show them how it was done on the float losing a BIG steelhead :(

November 13, 2006

Bill and Dick wanted to plug fish the Salmon R. today so that's what we did. It was a little tough going in the high water but the fish cooperated nicely.

November 12, 2006

Steve and Rocko were supposed to come up the day after the Monsoon in Oct. but, the river came up huge. The only difference today was that the river was already big and we went anyway. We found the salmon to be biting very well, with a few trout mixed in.

November 11, 2006

Rich and his son Ryan joined me for a day fishing the big O. We found the fish in a biting mood at first light to only have the turn off as the sun came up. We had lots of bites but the salmon one most of the time. We did however get some early presents from Santa.

November 5 & 6, 2006

Fred and Bob were willing to make the trek up and down the creeks on Sunday. Then begged to go back on Monday. Sun. the guys had fun with lots of Kings and a few trout. Mon. we decided to target just trout and we pleasantly surprised. Check out this King we found, he was over 43 inches long, making him a 35+ pounds.

November 4, 2006

Tom and Mike rode with me back to the scene of Tues. massacre only to find the water had dropped 4-6 inches over night and cleared up. We didn't see the same numbers of trout but we played with over a dozen and we caught all the kings we wanted.

October 31, 2006

After moving their trip from last week I was hoping the fishing would be better for Mike and Glen. I don't think it could have been much better, we were hooked up with trout all day. We caught so many trout they wanted to catch Salmon for a challenge!

October 30, 2006

Kelly and Tony followed me around to some small creeks in the hopes of finding some trout. Well we found some and Lots of salmon. Tony started quickly but, Kelly caught up in the end.

October 29, 2006

Dan Sullivan made it back and this time he brought a bunch of friends. They wanted salmon and with the forecast calling for 40-50mph winds we decided to try the one place we thought we could get some protection and it paid off.

October 28, 2006

Shawn and Kevin joined me on a wet morning on the Oswego. With the high water and no end in sight for the rain, we had few places to fish but we managed to find some.

October 27, 2006

Ben and Brad joined me for their annual Salmon River float trip. Unfortunately the fish didn't get the memo. We had our chances but we didn't capitalize.

October 26, 2006

Sobo is back, to bad Stu couldn't make it as we made the trip back West and found the Steel Sobo was after. The only down side was the water in the creeks had already dropped from yesterday and I didn't see the same numbers of fish as yesterday.

October 25, 2006

Sorry for the lack of reports but after all the rain we received I moved most all of my trips for the last 5 days. So today Dave, some of you might recognize him from Fat Nancy's and I took a ride out to the creeks and did some scouting for the next few days. What we found was promising.

October 20, 2006 Afternoon

Morning

Ken and Lee joined me this morning in the monsoon! Well I was excited when I checked the flow at 6am and it was 10,000 cfs but, by 9:30 it was 14,000 cfs. When we got to the river there was only one other boat there, we had the entire power house to ourselves and it was a Blood Bath! We fought many Kings!

Afternoon

We left quickly after getting our limit so the rest of the group could get there turn but by 12:30 the river had risen to 17,800cfs. Besides the high water it was solid mud, making it hard for the salmon to find our baits. We managed to hook a few and land one in just over an hour of trying. After seeing lightning come down in the Harbor and the temp. dropping we decided to call it a day.

Sorry for the lack of picks and sorry for such a short trip Joe and Jack. thanks for being such good sports, we'll crush'em next year!

October 19, 2006

Morning

Ted Sr.the birthday boy and his son Ted Jr. "Mr. 0 for" joined me this morning. The plug bite started off just like it had for the past few days but it came to a quick stop! We managed to pull out a bunch more casting skein. Luckily for Jr. he was able to land a fish early in the trip or else I figured he wouldn't be back.

Afternoon

Rob and Jason came out this afternoon to a wet boat yard in Oswego. Last year when Jason was here we were the only boat on the river this year there was 7 boats! The rain is starting and the fish are biting! Finally the river is going to come up. Rob landed two red sided Kings this afternoon, what pretty fish.

October 18, 2006 Afternoon

Carl and Mark came up to start "Ted week". If their luck carries over to the rest of the gang is going to be an easy few days. We fished plugs again this afternoon and the fish were very active! Mark was spoiled on his first trip, catching many large salmon! What carnage!

October 18, 2006

John and Steve came all the way from Maine to fish the Mighty Oswego and they weren't disappointed. We decided to plug fish after the great day yesterday and it was the right move. We didn't have the same amount of action but we had a better landing percentage. We even went caught and lost a steelhead.

October 17, 2006

Tom and Tom decided they wanted to try plugging this morning. It was the right decision! We were locked up non stop for the first 3 hours! What a FUN morning, it made you forget the fact it was raining so hard. River was at 3800 cfs this morning and going up!

October 15, 2006 - Afternoon

Chuck and Mike picked a perfect afternoon to fish the Oswego, although it was a little crowded we manged to crush them! We landed many salmon. All fish came on drifting skein again, it's been the hot ticket lately.
